World Telecom have had many changes over the last year, merging with yet another provider Optimus, to be able to provide not only low cost fixed calls as before, but also mobile solutions. We can now offer private and business clients complete telecom packages including fixed telephone, mobiles, fixed and mobile internet solutions. Our team will be happy to perform a forensic audit of all your current services and advise you of the best way to minimize your costs and maximize your services. Our PC services have also done exceptionally well with the launch of Blue Chip IT for our business clients and PC surgery catering for all home users. Our technicians are always a phone call away and will always try to help with any problems on the telephone. If need be you can always bring in your PC to our workshop in Lagoa where we can resolve any problems you may be experiencing or advise on upgrades or products you may be interested in. A technician can also be called out to your property for a small charge if it is not viable for you to come and see us. This recent rainy season has caused many problems on fixed lines throughout the country. Most of these have been resolved but are to be expected with this type of weather in Portugal. This is unfortunately out of our control but our call centre and technical team will always do everything in their power to get you back online as soon as possible. If ever your internet seems to have stopped working, we would like to give you a few pointers on how to identify the problem and eliminate further complications. Never press the ‘reset’ button on the back of your router/modem as it will throw out all the pre-configured settings. You can reset the router/modem simply by unplugging it for 5 or 6 seconds and then plugging it in again. Wait for all the lights to settle and then try the internet page you want on your computer again. After you have done the above, if the “DSL” light does not come on or keeps flashing you more than likely have a line problem. Call World Telecom and we will make sure to report it for you. These problems are usually due to difficulties on the line or even at the closest station to you. Once a report has been made by World Telecom we then have to wait for feedback from the PT engineers. We call to follow these up at least 3 to 4 times a day. Most line problems are resolved within 3 to 4 days unless the problem is more serious, such as lines that have been cut or poles which have fallen down. In this case we will advise you and it will be dealt with accordingly. Our call centre is always available to help and advise you with anything related to your account. We would like to update you on our revised billing system for communications whilst roaming. When calls are made in foreign countries, the charges for these calls are delayed and therefore cannot be debited directly off your current mobile credit in real time. Therefore any calls made in roaming as of the 01/10/2010 will be invoiced separately on your monthly invoice. Your World Telecom mobile is not automatically active for roaming so please inform us when and if necessary and we will have your roaming services activated for you. This applies to Kanguru mobile internet dongles as well. Please note- Roaming charges are very costly. When roaming, calls received as well as any calls made will be charged for. Data can be very costly and we strongly suggest using other forms of internet at local hotspots when travelling This will save you any nasty surprises . The only free service on roaming is receiving text messages. We trust you are satisfied with all your current services. O seu telemóvel não está automaticamente programado com o serviço de roaming por essa razão pedimos-lhe que nos informe quando necessitar do mesmo para que possamos proceder á sua activação. Esta situação aplica-se também para internet móvel Kanguru. Por favor tenha em conta que: Chamadas em Roaming são muito dispendiosas. Ser-lhe-á cobrado todas as chamadas efectuadas em roaming bem como uma taxa pelas chamadas recebidas. O serviço de Internet também resulta muito dispendioso e sugerimos sinceramente que opte por outra alternativa, tal como internet cafés, quando pretenda usar este tipo de serviço fora de Portugal. Esta pequena precaução irá com certeza poupar-lhe gastos desnecessários e surpresas desagradáveis. O único serviço gratuito quando em roaming são as mensagens escritas recebidas. In response to this World Telecom today announced a new Computer Maintenance Service, with Helpline in English, Remote Assistance, and guaranteed response times for urgent assistance at the client’s promises. The cost will be from Euros 5 per month, added to the clients phone account.
